When welding, the piece would pucker out away from the concrete rather than chip out the concrete 2. With other types of connectors we would have to partially weld the piece and then move to the next connector while the first one cools and then go back to finish the weld later. 3. Since there were less pieces per double T, compared to other connectors, there was less welding.
